New (and old) Australian Podcasts For Writers

Kid lit podcasts great for all writers

I like to keep my brain busy all the time so find if I’m not listening to my internal dialogue with my own book characters or thinking through sticky plot points , I am either listening to music or writing podcasts. Mostly, I listen to podcasts on children’s writing and have a few favourites such as the monthly children’s author interviews by ‘One More Page’ and the ‘Australian Writer’s Centre’ (AWC) weekly podcast.

Here are a few new podcasts you really should check out if you love the craft of writing as much as I do.

Amie Kaufman: On Writing

I am huge fan of Amie’s work in both MG and YA. She has something like 15 books out and is a NY Times bestseller. This series will prove to be very popular so get on board early.

An oldie but a goodie for children’s writers is a carefully curated set of episodes from early AWC podcasts interviews with children’s authors, Magic and Mayhem. There are over 20 episodes in here so I haven’t listed them all but the link to the podcast is below. There is an excellent free ebook to download, too.
